In mid-June, a new 10 leva banknote will be issued in Bulgaria. The bill depicts a portrait of the Bulgarian scientist and educator Petar Beron, on the reverse side you can see a telescope and other drawings related to astronomy. The banknote is protected by new elements (holographic tape, protective thread, watermarks), as well as marks for people with visual impairment. The size of one copy is 126x70 mm, the main colors are green and beige. Until now, banknotes of the sample of 1999 and 2008 are still in circulation, which are not yet planned to be withdrawn.

Petar Beron studied at a Greek school, studied medicine, and spoke nine languages. He published a "Primer with various teachings", wrote about 20 scientific papers, and worked as a doctor. He traveled all over Europe, visited Paris, London, Vienna, Prague, and died after arriving in Romania in 1871.
