As a result of archaeological research that has been conducted in the Chinese province of Henan since 2017, more than 600 ancient tombs have been studied. Excavations are underway in the city of Sanmenxia, where a pitcher in the shape of a bird, filled with an unknown liquid, was recently discovered. Half of the graves examined date back to the period of the Fighting kingdoms (475-221 BC) and the Han dynasty (221-206 BC). The later finds belong to the Qing period (1644-1911). thus, historians have seen an impressive burial covering a period of two thousand years.

More than 2 thousand artifacts were removed from the tombs, including bronze and ceramic dishes, jewelry made of jade, gold and silver, and other small items. For many years, Sanmenxia was an important point for the passage of armies and merchants. Further study of the tombs will help to trace the changes that took place in this area.
