A silver sample holder of 84 samples with painted polychrome enamel was sold on the Violiti website for $ 3,550. The product was made in the workshop of Klingert Gustav Gustavovich in Moscow between 1898 and 1914.

Lot "Cup holder 84, painted enamel, G. Klingert." — the work of a famous master, as evidenced by the existing brands on the "skirt" and on the bottom of the product. The weight of the cup holder is 190 g, the height with a handle — 10 cm, without a handle — 6.7 cm. The diameter of the base is 8.2 cm, the inner diameter is 6.5 cm. This information was provided by the seller on the website.

Klingert enamels always stood out among the works of other jewelers. And, despite the fact that most of the products he did not personally produce, his manner of execution and style were and remain recognizable. Emphasis in the work of Klingert were cloisonne, scan and notch techniques. Extremely beautiful and few were creations in the technique of stained glass enamel.

Enamels of the master are a bit like kaleidoscope patterns. They have a lot of the smallest details that are quite balanced and do not look chaotic. The predominant color is blue (cyan) and its shades. The highlight of Klingert is an enamel of an unusual turquoise color.

If enamel used metal as a background for the pattern, then most often it was gilded silver. The space has always been decorated with scan, carving, engraving or grain. A rare combination of cabochons with enamel. In this case, the stone inserts were almost invisible and harmoniously fit into the general composition of the products.

Recall, Klingert (Klingert) Gustav Gustavovich (1836-1921) — a Moscow merchant, manufacturer, homeowner, numismatist in 1865 founded a silverware factory. It produced table silver and carried out special orders, including for the manufacture of coronation dishes.

The factory products were awarded medals at international exhibitions in London and Edinburgh (1886), Paris (1889, 1890), Chicago (1893), Antwerp (1894). G. Klingert also made products with “Russian enamel” for Faberge.

Recently, a purse decorated with cloisonne enamel was sold at Violiti. After 44 bids, the lot reached its maximum rate of 40,160 UAH. The attention of users was attracted by the excellent condition of the product and its exquisite painting technique.
