The 1980s were difficult years in new York, but this period is considered a time of restrained optimism compared to the previous decade. The unemployment rate gradually decreased, but the problems with crime were very large. The thriving drug business led to the fact that the city was divided into conditional districts, each of which was ruled by a certain gang.
