In 1873, William Bradford's book the Arctic regions was published in London with the support of Queen Victoria. A total of 300 volumes have been printed, some of which are stored in major libraries around the world. In his work, Bradford describes traveling along the Western coast of Greenland on Board the Panther. The ship went to sea in 1869, the purpose of the trip was not scientific, as it usually happens – the organizers took with them photographers who captured on camera local residents and beautiful Northern landscapes. The original images are now stored in the new Bedford whaling Museum.
