In the Tula region (Russia), near Yasnaya Polyana, there is a samovar Museum, which is based on the collection of Mikhail Borschev. The collector began collecting rare specimens in the early 2000s, and today the collection has more than 600 items. Among the exhibits you can find products of outstanding masters of the XVIII-XXI centuries, samovars produced by little-known manufactories, products of large factories around the world.

Part of the collection was bought in various antique stores, and part was given as a gift. It grew so rapidly that the owner had to urgently look for new premises to accommodate it. In the end, in 2018, samovars and bulotki found a new home, where the infrastructure necessary to maintain the collection was created. After all, every item needs careful care, especially old masterpieces, which today are perceived as works of decorative and applied art. This Museum is a great example of how a hobby can turn into something more.
