In an Indian village located in the Kadapa district, an ancient slab with text in archaic telugu, one of the Dravidian languages, was found. The inscription was identified by a student of history, Vasudeva Reddy, and was deciphered by the Director of the Archaeological survey of India. Scholars believe that the text was inscribed on the slab in the eighth century, during the reign of the Maharaja of renadu, king of the Chola state, which existed until the thirteenth century.

The text refers to the fact that a brahmin named Sidyamayu, a servant of the village temple, was granted a plot of land. The end of the text reads: those who keep this inscription will receive a special status - conducting Aswamedha Yaga, if someone destroys it, will be punished for a sin equal to murder. For further study, transfer the slab to the State archaeological Museum in Mylavaram.

Chola-Tamil state, which was located in the southern part of modern India. It is widely believed that the name of the country coincides with the name of the ruling family. In the sixth century, the oldest literary monuments in Telugu, an old written language, were created. The heyday of architecture was in the X-XII centuries – many large temples were built, which have survived to this day.
