Violiti experts continue to publish to help budding collectors. This one will be dedicated to the coins of the RSFSR, an extremely interesting topic for collecting. Confirmation of this is the huge number of coins of the first socialist state on Violiti. To illustrate, specimens were selected in high quality performance, rarity years or varieties.
During the First World War, after the 1917 revolution and during the civil war, the country's economy and monetary system were undermined by continuous hostilities. There were a lot of banknotes in the country, hyperinflation reigned. There were many talented economists in the leadership of the young Soviet Republic. They clearly understood the importance of a stable monetary system.
In 1921, the first Soviet coins were issued in the RSFSR. They were made from billon and silver - from 10 kopecks to 1 ruble. Their weight was similar to the weight of coins of the times of Nicholas II, they were made of silver of the same test.
Of greatest interest are gold coins with a denomination of 1 ducat with the emblem of the RSFSR on the reverse and a peasant sower on the obverse. They are fully equivalent in weight, fineness and metal content to 10 rubles minted from the period of Nicholas II. The coins did not get into wide circulation and are of great interest to collectors.
