Australia has introduced an unusual numismatic novelty - a charity dollar intended for donations. In this case, the coin is used in circulation and can get to any Australian along with the change. In total, approximately 25 million of these one-dollar coins will be produced over the next three years. Despite the fact that they are a standard means of payment, the authorities urge to give them to those in need.

The release of the charity dollar is associated with the forecast that in the near future, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, people will donate much less than usual. The center of the coin is green and contains an image of ripples, which symbolizes the positive consequences that come from each donation. In addition, the reverse contains the inscription "Give to help others", and instead of the usual "1 dollar" Denomination, "Donation dollar" is also indicated here. Such an eye-catching design will immediately remind Australians of what the purpose of this dollar is. There are already several million coins in circulation today.
