In October, Christie's will display a painting by Pablo Picasso, one of the portraits of the artist's Muse, Dora Maar, which has not previously appeared at auctions. According to preliminary estimates of experts, the cost of the lot may reach $ 30 million. The canvas shows a woman standing next to a chair in a jacket, blouse and hat. The picture is made in cold blue tones, the real image is passed through the prism of cubism, although the main character still radiates the chic that Maar was famous for. Along with the painting by the Spanish artist, the auction will feature works by Paul Cezanne, Jean-Michel Basquiat and other artists.

French artist Dora Maar (Henrietta Markovich) met Picasso through the poet Paul Eluard. This happened in 1936, in the cafe "Deux Magots" (Les Deux Magots), which was visited more than once by Guillaume Apolinner, Jean-Paul Sartre, Simone de Beauvoir, Andre Breton and other famous writers. While Picasso drew inspiration from his new friend, she took a lot of photos of the painter, and also began to draw herself. Despite the war that came in 1941, the period of their communication was very prolific. In 1945, the relationship broke up, and Dora Maar sought help from the psychoanalyst Jacques Lacan in connection with a mental crisis.
