The Cook Islands unveiled a $ 5 silver coin featuring a dead loop - one of the most intimidating and exciting parts of a roller coaster. To be more precise, this is a fragment of an attraction built in 1901 in Coney island (USA). On the coin, you can see a trailer with three passengers. The trailer passes the highest point of the dead loop and is about to start descending. The inscription "1901-2021" indicates the 120th anniversary of the attraction, which will celebrate the date next year. The first and last words of the name LOOP THE LOOP are placed upside down in relation to each other. On the reverse side, the image of the roller coaster is duplicated, in the center is a portrait of Elizabeth II. Circulation - 1901 copies.

The Coney island roller coaster was the first such ride with a life-safe loop. All previous versions were dangerous, because people were subjected to severe overload and could get serious damage to the cervical spine. Reducing the load was possible due to the fact that the loop was given an elliptical shape. Despite a high-quality construction project, these roller coasters did not become commercially successful, and the structure was demolished in 1910.
