In the German lands of Saxony-Anhalt, archaeologists have discovered a cemetery with human remains and animal skeletons. Among the graves was the burial of a German Lord who lived fifteen hundred years ago, during the Great migration of peoples. According to experts, this is one of the most important finds in the region made over the past 40 years. As in many other similar cases, the excavation began in connection with the construction, in this case, the construction of a poultry farm is planned.

Despite the assumption that the burial belongs to a person of high status, the remains of the Lord himself have not yet been found. But the researchers found precious artifacts, including coins, jewelry and other items. In the Central part of the grave is a bronze cauldron surrounded by six skeletons – probably the buried concubines of the Lord. It is not clear whether they sacrificed themselves during the ritual according to local traditions or were killed.

The great migration of peoples began in the 300s and ended in the second half of the VI century. Even during the heyday of the Roman Empire, the territory of modern Germany remained under the control of local tribes: Visigoths, Huns, vandals. The burial dates back to 480-530, when the Roman Empire almost fell. Thanks to its convenient location, the place was well protected from the environment. In addition, the burial site is located in a natural depression and is covered with a layer of earth more than 1 m thick, which protected the artifacts and remains of bodies from plowing.
