The NBU has released a new commemorative coin with a portrait of the pilot Amet-Khan Sultan. The pilot is known for flying six hundred sorties during world war II and personally shooting down 30 enemy aircraft during air battles. On the obverse is a composition with the image of two planes (one in the air, the second shot down), on the side is a fragment of the dashboard. The reverse is decorated with a portrait of Amet Khan Sultan, indicating the years of his life: 1920-1971. Here you can also see part of one of the devices in the cabin. The nominal value of the new product is 2 hryvnia. The coin was made of Nickel silver, the circulation was 30 thousand copies.

Amet Khan Sultan was a test pilot who tested over 100 different types of aircraft after the war. After signing a petition for the rehabilitation of the Crimean Tatars in 1956, he was denied the opportunity to go to France. He died in 1971 during another test flight.
