A scale model created in Germany in the 1920s appeared on Violiti's website in early October. This toy only needs a little fire and water to work.

The lot is a scale model of a steam engine. A metal boiler with a scale is located on the platform, which is connected by means of a tube to the mechanism that drives the flywheel. This is a clear example of the transformation of water vapor energy into mechanical work.

In the 17th century, one of these designs was the development of Denis Papin. It was a cylinder with a piston that rose under the action of steam and dropped atmospheric pressure after the latter was thickened.

Guided by the same principle, two Englishmen created their steam engines - the mechanic Thomas Severi and the inventor Thomas Newcomen. Their devices, invented at the beginning of the 18th century, were used to pump excess water from mines.

The strongest impetus for the development of steam engines was noted during the 19th century. This was due to their use in the construction of steamships and steam locomotives.

The authority of the devices was shaken at the beginning of the 20th century. Gasoline and diesel engines, which were installed on land modes of transport, almost completely replaced steam ones. It also affected the production of railway and water transport.

But attempts to "revive" the ideas of using steam engines did not stop. They were reflected in experimental designs. Even in large-scale modeling, as evidenced by the lot exhibited at Violiti.
