The Carabinieri by Grigory Gluckman is a painting that has been exhibited by the Dalzell Hatfield Galleries in Los Angeles and the Milch Galleries in New York. Later it was put up for auction at Christie's with a starting price of $ 30 thousand. I wonder what limit the painting will reach after becoming a lot on the Violiti website?

The work was created during the artist's trip to Italy in 1954. Its plot is based on outside observation of the life of Venice. In the foreground, from the back, there are two carabinieri keeping order. The background is decorated with cityscapes and their inhabitants.

Compositions from the life of ancient cities with unusual structures, peculiar combinations of characters and scenes are the second favorite theme of the painter. These paintings were distinguished by the careful detailing of individual elements, the penetration of the painted.

The first personal exhibition of Grigory Gluckman took place in 1924 in Paris. Prior to the outbreak of World War II, he held over ten solo exhibitions in Paris, London and New York. Took part in exhibitions of Russian art in Berlin, Amsterdam, Paris.

At that time, the artist was engaged in easel painting. Among the main themes on which he wrote were scenes of street life, landscapes, portraits.

In 1941, Gluckman emigrated to the United States. There he continued to hold solo exhibitions. Later he began to organize retrospective exhibitions in Paris and New York.

Now the artist's works can be found in the National Museum of Modern Art, the Luxembourg Museum and the Petit Palais Museum in Paris, as well as in the museums of Le Havre, San Diego, Chicago.
