The transistor receiver "Swallow" is another interesting lot on the Violiti website. It appeared at a time when the country began to produce high-quality devices at an affordable price for Soviet citizens.

The exposed lot is portable radio, which is assembled on seven transistors. It operates on the medium and long wave bands. On the front wall there is a tuning dial, on the back there is a range switch, on the side at the bottom - a volume control and off. The transistor is supplied with an imitation leather case.

The first portable receivers began to appear in the early 1960s. This was primarily due to the invention of semiconductor transistors, which made it possible to reduce the size and power consumption of receivers. In addition to this, there is no longer the need to register them at post offices and pay a subscription fee. These transistors could be taken with you anywhere, enjoying your favorite music.

But this technological boom was replaced by a period of universalization of designs and circuits for radio receivers. It became more profitable for the country to reduce the cost of production processes, so transistors began to gradually resemble each other. The impersonal ones were outwardly as sad as the sound of most of them.

As for the Lastochka radio receivers, the Dnepropetrovsk radio plant was engaged in their production. After the creation of the first type of transistors in 1962, its modernization followed. Simultaneously with the production of Lastochka, the Radio Plant began to produce Lastochka-2 and Saturn. Their wiring diagrams, with the exception of some details, were the same.
