An unusual structure about m. "Lybedskaya", known to Kiev residents and guests of the capital under the name "Flying saucer", was included in the register of architectural monuments. The structure was created in 1971 and almost 50 years later it was recognized as a cultural heritage site.

Today, the building is not in the best condition. In the spring, it was updated by repairing the dome. Letters were sent to the President, the Prime Minister and the head of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine to add the object to the register. The building was recognized as an architectural monument during the meeting, which took place on October 7.

The "Flying saucer" was originally designed as a light and music theater. Then they decided to make a lecture hall inside the building, where cinematographers were supposed to gather. Thanks to a special form, the architect Florian Yuriev was able to solve the problem of the narrow territory provided for construction, allocating enough space for pedestrians.
