New commemorative coin of the NBU dedicated to the Ukrainian neurosurgeon

"Andrey Romodanov" is a new Ukrainian coin that the national Bank plans to issue on November 2. The nominal value of the new item is 2 hryvnia, it is made of Nickel silver, the diameter is 31 mm. The coin's circulation is 30 thousand copies. The obverse shows a human figure, with a human brain in the background. Above the nominal value is the sign of the banknote and mint. On the reverse side there is a portrait of the Ukrainian neurosurgeon Andrey Romodanov, as well as the outline of the brain, above which the years of the Professor's life are indicated.

Andrey Romodanov was born in 1920 and has published more than 260 different studies and scientific papers, including 11 monographs. He studied issues in the field of pediatric neurosurgery, looking for new ways to treat the consequences of gunshot wounds in the brain. Romodanov formed a scientific school of neurosurgeons in Ukraine.
