On the outskirts of the village of Kvasilov in the Rivne region are the remains of an ancient Russian settlement. It was founded in the 12th century, lasted until the middle of the 13th century, after which it fell into decline, probably as a result of the Mongol invasion. The first finds in this place were made in 1992, and 11 years later, archaeologists discovered ceramic dishes of those times, as well as fragments of products from a later period, the XV-XV centuries.

Research this fall has also borne fruit. During the excavations, archaeologists touched on several cultural layers at once. Employees of the Security archaeological service of Ukraine made several pits, thanks to which they got out of the ground artifacts of the copper age and objects of a later time, up to the late middle ages. This is a collection of fragments of flint tools, ceramic dishes, and an anthropomorphic statuette. Obsidian nuclei (fragments of material for making tools) indicate that local residents traded with the Carpathian region.
