This quirky amphibious car, dubbed the "Rhino", was designed and assembled by inventor Elie Aghnides. The idea to make such a car came to the engineer in 1940, when he watched a passing tractor. A few years later, he designed the "Rhino" concept.

The car looks unusual and impressive. Weighing five tons, the all-terrain vehicle could easily move through sand, mud, and overcome reservoirs. On a straight flat road, the Rhinoceros moved at a speed of 72 km / h, on water the speed reached 8 km/h. The prototype was built in 1954, its design allowed it to tilt in any direction at an angle of 75 degrees and not tip over. Eli Agnides presented the development to the military, but they refused the car, fearing that the hollow wheels could easily be shot through during combat. The photo shows the tests of the all-terrain vehicle.
