The Belgian post office has issued two postage stamps with the image of a traditional cookie for some Western European countries called spéculoos and a mold for its production. One stamp shows cookies in the shape of St. Nicholas, below are cinnamon sticks, cloves, anise; the second one shows the shape used to prepare the pastry. For the design of the new philatelic item, a photo of Luc Longin was chosen, and Miriam Voz worked on the layout. The size of one copy is 27x48 mm. In addition, you can buy a sheet of 165x200 mm with ten stamps.
Speculos - crunchy cookies with various spices, which were first baked in Belgium and the Netherlands. From here it got to Germany and Denmark. For many years, cookies were very expensive, because spices were not cheap. Only after the end of the Second world war, it became available to most people, it is baked in large factories, as well as in small pastry shops.
