At the beginning of the XX century, South-Eastern Europe was going through hard times. The first Balkan and first world wars and ethnic conflicts tore the region apart. In 1915-1920, red cross employees arrived here, who traveled around the countries, and during the trip took many photographs showing the hard life. Underdeveloped regions have had a difficult time surviving this period. The revision of animals led to famine in the villages, young people recruited into the army died EN masse, and trade ties were severed for a long time. The borders of the States were redrawn, Austria-Hungary and the Ottoman Empire collapsed, a number of countries formed the Kingdom of Serbs, Croats and Slovenes, which after a while was renamed Yugoslavia.
