In Ukraine, a coin dedicated to Slavyansk was prepared for release

The national Bank issued a coin dedicated to the Ukrainian city of Slavyansk, whose history began in 1645 with several buildings - ostrozhek. Later, a fortress appeared here, which gradually grew, and in its place a County town was formed. A large settlement interested merchants who came here from different parts of Sloboda Ukraine. Thanks to the development of the salt industry, Slavyansk flourished, and today it symbolizes the struggle for the return of Ukrainian lands captured in 2014.

The obverse shows a Cossack, with part of a wooden fortification visible behind. The nominal value of 5 hryvnias is indicated here, as well as the old name of the fortress located on the site of Slavyansk – Solyanoy tor. On the reverse are images of structures that adorn the city today: the Holy resurrection Church, the city Council, the city hospital and the fountain. Below is a fountain, in the upper part - the coat of arms of Slavyansk. The circulation of the coin made of Nickel silver is 35 thousand copies.
