At the Artcurial auction, the original drawing for the cover of the comic book "Blue Lotus" in 1936 was given for 3.2 million euros. It depicts Tintin, a character in the comic book series by the artist Hergé. The 34x34 square painting is drawn in ink, gouache and watercolour. In addition to the main character, you can see the fox terrier Snowball (in the original Milou) and a large formidable Chinese dragon.

Since the author himself decided that this drawing would be too expensive to use in a comic book, he created a simplified version of the cover. Tintin became one of the most popular and beloved characters from European comics, first appearing in the Twentieth Century weekly for Children in 1929. The prototype of the character was the Danish traveler and writer Palle Huld. The comics combine such genres as detective, science fiction, adventure novel, and also contains satire on certain phenomena.
