A series of photos of the Sun taken by NASA specialists attracted the attention of the US Postal Service. This year, a series of ten Sun Science forever postage stamps were issued, which show images of the sun made with the help of the solar dynamics observatory. Postage stamps depict the events that usually occur on the nearest star to us: solar flares, spots, coronal loops, etc.
The staff of the observatory has been monitoring the Sun for more than 10 years. The research complex has provided millions of images over its lifetime that allow scientists to understand more about the solar activity affecting our lives. The bright colors used in the design of the stamps make it possible to see some features of the star that are invisible to human vision. The design was designed by Antonio Alcalá, based on NASA color images.
