Among the last coins of last year, it is worth noting 200 euros issued by the Vatican. The gold coin, with a circulation of 500 copies, is dedicated to the Archangel Gabriel. The obverse depicts the papal coat of arms of Francis, under which is the motto of the Pope. On the reverse side we see the composition: The Virgin Mary in the rays of light coming from a dove (a symbol of the Holy Spirit); next to another figure – the Archangel Gabriel, who informs Mary about the future birth of Jesus Christ.
Gabriel is one of the four archangels standing near the throne of God. He is also considered an angel of death and a messenger of judgment. Before appearing to the Virgin Mary, Gabriel visited the priest Zacharias, giving him the news of the birth of a son, known to us as John the Baptist. In Judaism, Gabriel is known as Gabriel, and in Islam as Jibril.
