Not far from Budapest (Hungary), during the archaeological research of the settlement of Ujlengyel, a damaged vessel with many silver coins was found, among which were four gold forints. The oldest of the finds dates back to the second century AD and is a silver denarius of Lucius Verus, who ruled the Roman Empire in 161-169 together with Marcus Aurelius. Gold coins were issued in the XV century during the time of King Matthias I of Hungary.

According to the staff of the Ferenczi Museum Center, today this cache is recognized as the largest treasure of the late Middle Ages among other similar finds in the Pest district. It is suggested that the cache belonged to a local resident who hid the coins during the attack of the Ottoman army, possibly on the eve of the battle of Mogach. Numismatist Nagy Balázs, who led the excavations, noted that the interest in this area is due to the discovery of 150 coins from the Middle Ages in the year before last. The pot in which the coins were stored was broken, and it is impossible to completely restore its integrity.
