In Borislav, a new museum of Jan Zeg, whose exposition is dedicated to the medicinal properties of petroleum products, has started operating. The pharmacy-museum project was launched in 2019 and was implemented in two stages. At the first stage, a plot was prepared, on which the museum building was soon built. The second stage included the acquisition and formation of the collection.

Borislav is sometimes called the oil capital of Galicia. Here is a large deposit of ozokerite-a substance with special properties. Ointments and various lubricants are made from ozokerite not only for medical, but also for technical needs. In Ukraine, Jan Zeg, a pharmacist and pharmacist who made candles from ozokerite, was engaged in the study of petroleum products in the framework of medicine. In Lviv, he opened a store where he sold products for removing stains from clothing and other technical purposes. And in 1854 he went to Munich, where he received a certificate for the perfect distillate of oil.
