In the Chernihiv region, in the village of Novye Mlyny, there are the remains of a burned-out hospital, which local residents decided to disassemble. The building burned down 16 years ago, and only recently the remaining walls were dismantled. During the work, an amazing discovery was made: part of the walls of the building consisted of ancient icons. Within a few days, several cult works of art were found, which probably belonged to the St. Nicholas Church, a monument of religious architecture of the XVIII century, destroyed in the 1930s.

The finds are planned to be transferred to the Holy Trinity Church, built in 1800. Some of them are going to be restored. As for the burned-out hospital, the work here is not complete, and it is quite possible that more artifacts will be found at this place. Former employees of the hospital mentioned an unusual patient who was treated at this medical facility in the 1990s and prayed standing in front of the walls of the hospital. As it turned out later, it was a former priest who survived the repression, and apparently knew about the icons.
