We continue the series of publications dedicated to the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth thalers. In the previous two articles, Sigismund III thalers sold on Violity were published. Today we begin to publish a selection of thalers minted under his son, Vladislav IV. This is the last king who ruled the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth during its heyday. The period of Vladislav's reign is characterized by the active minting of large-denomination coins, since there were enough coins issued during the reign of his father in circulation. Of particular interest in this publication are the Torun city thaler and half of the crown thaler. All other thalers, except for the Torun one, are crown ones.
