Before the introduction of buses, trams were the main urban transport on the Isle of Man. The first omnibuses were provided by Manxland Bus Co Limited, and in 1976 the government bought the right to transport services, since then the National Transport logo can be seen on the buses. Cars imported from England were introduced into the transport system. In honor of the local buses, the Isle of Man Post Office has printed several themed issues of stamps.
