Family members of the Greek billionaire shipowner Aristotle Onassis decided to sell one of the paintings in their private collection. The speech is about the landscape "The Moat, Breccles", written by the British Prime Minister Winston Churchill and presented to a Greek entrepreneur. The work, created in 1921, was kept for many years by Onassis, who was friends with the politician. Such gifts were awarded to a few, among them Queen Elizabeth II.

The landscape decorated the walls of the billionaire's yacht "Christina". Next to it, you could see the masterpieces of world-famous authors: El Greco, Gauguin and other masters. After the death of the tycoon in 1975, the yacht was transferred to the Greek government, and the paintings remained in the family. The works written by the British politician are very popular, and in recent years often pop up at auctions. The minimum cost of this work can reach $ 2 million. It will be offered during June at the Phillips auction. As an amateur artist, Churchill became the author of more than 500 paintings.

Landscapes, still lifes, portraits of famous personalities also appear on the Violiti website. The main thing is to keep an eye on the novelties displayed in the "Painting and Graphics" section.
