Vinnytsia Museum was presented with a treasure of the 5th century

A treasure trove of precious ornaments was discovered in the Barskiy district of the Vinnitsa region. In 2011, an unknown person bought it collector Alexei Sheremetiev. A precious gift was made on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the Vinnytsia Museum of Local History.

"The gifted treasure consists of 30 items, including a horse harness kit and accessories in the Norman style, all of which are made of silver, gilded, some decorated with ink, impressive stamping and stamping.This collection is extremely important and unique thanks to the precious metals from which the items are made and a unique finish, "- writes Mikhail Potupchik, head of the cultural heritage protection sector of the Culture and Arts Department of the Vinnytsia Regional State Administration .
