A wooden treasure chest was discovered by Polish archaeologists under the altar of the cathedral in the city of Bydgoszcz (Kujawsko-Pomorskie voivodeship). The find was helped by 480 gold coins, which were part of the treasure.

The oldest of the coins is the golden ducat of King Sigismund Augustus of 1570, the newest one - 1652. Mostly Dutch coins. There are several Austrian and even one Turkish. There are also silver coins.

There were about 200 jewels in the chest - brooches with sapphires and rubies, medallions, crosses, pendants, wedding rings and just rings with stones, necklaces, precious headband in the form of a grid ...

The uniqueness of this case is also in the fact that since the treasure was found by archaeologists, every moment is fixed. Everything was systematized and described in detail, and then accompanied by the police sent to the storage.
