The luck in finding the "Titanic" smiled at Robert Ballard, who had been preparing for this expedition for almost 13 years. Within 2 months of searching he tried to find something. And when the expedition remained only 5 days before the expedition was lucky.

On the monitor, which was connected to a video camera on a deep-sea vehicle, Ballard saw strange shadows. It happened around 1am on September 1, 1985. Soon it became clear that they were fragments of the Titanic.

After a while, one of the steam boilers of the liner was discovered. After this, all doubts were dispelled.

The next day, the front of the hull was found. Unexpectedly, there was a lack of feed. After all, after the investigation of 1912, it was officially considered that the ship sank entirely.

This expedition helped answer many questions, and also gave the world the first photographs of the sunken "Titanic."

A year later Ballard again went to the ship. This time, a deep-water apparatus was used, which could accommodate three people. They were accompanied by a small robot, allowing to explore the vessel from the inside.

Soon new lines of expeditions were pulled to the Titanic. Some were purely exploratory in nature, others - raised various objects from the ship.

As for the rise of the vessel itself, it was already clear after Ballard's expedition that this was practically an impossible task. His body has long been in such a state that, with the slightest movement of special equipment, it can crumble to pieces.
