"Yellow vests" got to the museum premises of the Arc de Triomphe

Due to the illegal actions of the participants of the movement “Yellow vests” in the museum premises of the Triumphal Arch, the exhibits were damaged. According to the statement of the head of the national department for the protection of monuments, Philip Belaval, the amount of damage may reach 1 million euros.

Vandals, who entered the premises, “decapitated” the marble statue of Napoleon, destroyed a plaster sculpture of the 30s and painted graffiti on the walls.

The demonstrators are holding mass protests not for the first weekend in a row. In addition to lowering fuel prices, they require a reduction in the tax burden and an increase in the minimum wage. In parallel, the CGT organizes protest rallies in the Place de la République in Paris.
