NBU will issue a coin in honor of Athanasius Saksaganskogo

On May 14, 2019, the National Bank of Ukraine introduces a new coin dedicated to Athanasius Saksaganskogo - Panas Saksaganskiy.
Afanasy Karpovich Saksagansky (Tobilevich) - Ukrainian actor, director, playwright, teacher, one of the leading figures of the Ukrainian domestic theater. During his creative life he managed to create a whole gallery of stage images of comedy and drama repertoire.
On the obverse of the coin there is a small State Emblem of Ukraine (right), under it is a vertical inscription UKRAINE; in the center there is a stylized composition: on a mirror background, P. Saksagansky's favorite chair, on which the hat lies, to the left of the chair there is the mirror outline of the actor who holds a mask in his hand, to the right is the theater curtain; at the bottom of the inscription: “2019”, “2 hryvnia.”
On the reverse of the product, a stylized composition is depicted, symbolizing the actor's expression: “Everyone wants to seem not what he is. I know this well, and therefore I will not draw my portrait ... Experiencing both bitter and sweet, seeing the light and darkness of life and not painting everything with my own mood is not given to everyone ...”(Afanasy Saksagansky “Along the Way of Life”): a mirror outline of an actor, holds a mask with a face in his hand, symbolizes his talent of reincarnation; on the left is the theater curtain; on the right - the years of his life “1859/1940” and the inscription “PANAS SAKSAGANSKIY” (in a semicircle).
