The author of these photos is Anton Sevryugin, who was once the official photographer of the imperial court of Iran. His photo studio was one of the most successful in Tehran from the end of the 1870s until 1934.

This man's career coincided with a critical period in the modern history of Iran, the era of active influence on the Iranian culture of Western civilization, stretching from the reign of Nasir ad-din Shah to Reza Shah Pahlavi.

Anton Sevryugin was awarded the gold medal at the international exhibition in Brussels. All photos were taken in 1901.
