A strange artifact with bronze petals was discovered by Polish archaeologists during excavations at the Dukla Pass, Subcarpathian Voivodeship. According to scientists, it was made about I millennium BC. - in the Bronze Age.

Researchers attracted a strange form of discovery. She looked like a "propeller" and was in good condition. The presence in the lower part of the hole, has allowed archaeologists to assume that this is an element of the mace.

“It is impossible to say exactly where this mace came from, but, most likely, it belonged to some Middle Eastern culture - Iranian. Probably, it was owned by an important person. The mace was not only a terrible weapon, but also a symbol of power,” said an archaeologist from the University of Rzeszow and the head of the excavation, Wojciech Pasterkevich.

Scientists cannot explain why this strange subject appeared in the south of Poland 3,000 years ago. Probably the reason - the Dukla Pass - a convenient passage through the Carpathians from modern Slovakia to Poland.

“It is not surprising that a foreign army could have passed through it in the distant past. Perhaps the mace was lost in a campaign or battle,” stated Wojciech Pasterkevich.

Found an artifact declared property of the Polish state. Scientists plan to determine from which alloy and when exactly it was cast. After research, he will be exhibited in the museum in Rzeszow.
