These are the negatives of Poznyaki village, the current residential area of ​​Kiev, dated 1939. They depict the locals on their faces near their houses, the nature of these places.

The first written records of the village belong to the second half of the XVI century. The name of the village comes from the surname Pozniak - it was carried by the owners of the ancient settlement Pankovshchina, the brothers Moses and Leonty. In 1631, the village became the property of the Kiev Metropolitan Peter Graves, and later - the Kiev-Bratsk Monastery.

According to the census of 1897, there were 93 courtyards and about 1000 population in Pozniaky. People became more and more and in the 1920s the village was divided into Old and New Poznyaki.
