In modern society, the attitude towards the Soviet past is very uncertain - some blame the Soviet Union, others call it the best country of all times and peoples. Kazan photographer Rustam Mukhametzyanov simply filmed life the way it is.

In these photos, Mukhametzyanov reflected moments of joy, sadness, excitement, grief and admiration for the life of Soviet people in cities and villages.
