20 pounds sterling - a new bill in the UK

In the UK, new banknotes were introduced in denominations of 20 pounds sterling. The bill depicts the British artist William Turner, a representative of romanticism and the Creator of landscapes. The novelty should be launched in circulation in early 2020. Modern protective elements will make the polymer banknote the most secure among all issued in the country.

Earlier in the country appeared in circulation similar denominations of 5 and 10 pounds sterling. And in 2021, another novelty is expected – a 50 pound note with a portrait of Alan Turing. The use of polymer materials makes money more durable and less harmful to the environment.
