The most populous state in the South-East of Australia is New South Wales. This is where the largest city and capital of the state is located – Sydney. In 1842, a regular mail service was established between Sydney and Melbourne. In 1848, the postal system was reformed, and according to the drawn up act, it was allowed to use postage stamps, which first appeared in 1850. These images show post offices that were located in New South Wales in the 19th and 20th centuries.
