The Old Testament Trinity icon has become another interesting item put up for auction at Violity. At the end of March, after 148 bets, it was bought for 42,100 UAH. There are dozens of options that capture one significant event in the Christian world — a meeting of three wanderers. And this icon is one of them.

The non-salary icon depicting the Holy Trinity on a wooden board was put up for auction in mid-March. As the materials that were used to write it, there were levkas, tempera and gold. On the back of the icon are two long slats — dowels. The seller assessed the condition of the lot as good, but there were still traces of age, noted on the auction website.

As indicated earlier, the icon of the Holy Trinity has many symbolic images. With their help, a general idea of ​​the event is formed, and its strength and significance for believers is revealed through fine details.

The central element of the composition is a cup reflecting the suffering of Jesus Christ through which he is ready to go through to atone for human sins. Three angels are sitting at the table, holding scepters in their hands — symbols of power. In the center — God the Father, blesses the cup, bowing his hand over it. Behind him is a tree, as a symbol of life. On the right hand is the Holy Spirit, behind which stands the temple. On the contrary, God the Son sits and his head is humbly lowered, and his gaze is directed to the cup. Behind Christ's back is a mountain — a symbol of redemption.

Recently reported sales at the auction Violity Theodore Icon of the Mother of God with a precious salary. The materials that adorned the surface of the “Icon of B.M. Theodorovsky Three-Handed” lot are silver, gilding and pearls. The final cost of the icon after 287 bets was 199 600 UAH.
