The Breitling Transocean Unitime model — a classic Swiss watch with a chronograph function and an indication of world time, was sold on the Violiti website in late May. But not only this attracted the attention of users. The correct operation of all functions, the exact course and good condition, despite the years, are also important.
After 146 bids for the Breitling Transocean Original 46mm lot, Violiti paid $ 2,545 on the website. Only the watch was in the kit — a large steel chronograph with world time, a power reserve of 70 hours, and a B05 manufactory caliber with COSC certificate. This was reported by the seller in the description of the lot on the site.
The design of the Breitling Transocean chronograph is quite restrained — the case and bracelet are made of stainless steel, a convex sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating. On the back of the case is indicated the level of water resistance of the watch — 100 M.
The dial with three hands and date display looks quite elegant. This is especially true for white and central blue backgrounds imitating the globe. Graceful chronographs give rectangular marks.
The quality of Breitling mechanisms, like this chronograph, is confirmed by a certificate from the Swiss Chronometer Testing Institute (COSC). This document demonstrates the accuracy and high quality of mechanical and quartz calibers.
Recall, for the first time, the Breitling Transocean Unitime model was introduced in 1951. But then it was without a stopwatch function. At that time, the owner of the watch set the time zone using a rotating bezel. For this, an inner rim was used, on which the names of 24 cities were printed. Each of them represented one of 24 time zones.
Breitling's modern wristwatches are represented by four lines, each of which is a multitude of models with all kinds of designs. But the large body, contrasting finish and appearance, imitating the cockpit, remain unchanged.
