Portugal is an ancient country on the Iberian Peninsula. It is the westernmost country on the European mainland, bordering the Atlantic ocean and Spain. Portuguese cities are famous for their beautiful architecture. And Portuguese is spoken in many countries that used to be colonies of Portugal – today it is spoken by more than 250 million people. These photographs by Eric Huybrechts, taken in 1977, show both the lives of individuals in particular and the beautiful Portuguese landscape in General.
