The Czech mint produced another coin for Niue, dedicating it to the mythical creature Gryphon, which has the body of a lion and the head of an eagle. Previous coins in the Mythical Creatures series featured a dragon and a Phoenix. The new product is available in two versions – silver and gold. The circulation of the 999 silver coin is 1 thousand copies, the nominal value is 2 new Zealand dollars. Gold coins with a face value of 5 new Zealand dollars less – only 500 copies. Material – gold of 999 tests.

The mythological Griffin is a contradictory creature that unites heaven and earth. It symbolizes pride, vigilance, and power. For the first time images of the Griffin were found in Crete, in addition, it was revered in Egypt and Persia. Often found in heraldry on different coats of arms, there is a variant of the image of an animal without wings and with a fish tail. Often the Griffin can be seen as an architectural decorative element.
