John Samuel Margolies is an American critic, photographer, and author who has studied modern architecture in the United States. The objects of his research were also advertising signs of roadside cafes and shops. In the 1970s, John Margolis traveled the country and photographed architectural objects, wanting to capture them on film before they were replaced by new structures. Some of the images later ended up in a public archive called "Roadside America" created by the Library of Congress.
