In the Poltava region, in the ancient settlement of Reshetilovka-III, which was excavated five years ago, archaeologists found artifacts from several historical periods. Until now, scientists were only aware of the existence of an archaeological site, but recent excavations have significantly expanded the understanding of this place. It turned out that the remains of the settlement consist of three layers.

The oldest finds include items related to the life of representatives of the catacomb culture who lived here in the XX-XVII centuries BC. among the artifacts found fragments of pots decorated with rope prints. The next historical layer contained items of the chernoles culture that existed in these lands in the IX-VIII centuries BC. these included fragments of ceramics, a bronze hairpin and a bronze diamond-shaped piercing.

The third layer presented a surprise - medieval bone skates Dating from the X-XIII centuries. They lay underground at a depth of 0.5 m and are well preserved. On one side, they are slightly raised, have holes for attaching to the legs. As a rule, skates of that time were made from the bones of horses or cattle. Similar finds were found in Chernihiv.
