The NBU issued a coin dedicated to the 175th anniversary of the creation of the Cyril and Methodius brotherhood. The novelty of Nickel silver with a face value of 5 hryvnia was put into circulation on November 26. The coin has a circulation of 30 thousand copies and a diameter of 35 mm. The obverse shows branches with leaves that diverge to the right and left, with the denomination, country, and year of manufacture indicated between them. To the right and left of them are two inscriptions: "Books of Butte to the Ukrainian people" and "Statute of the Word'yan brotherhood of St. Cyril I Methodius". On the reverse are portraits of members of the brotherhood: Taras Shevchenko, Nikolay Kostomarov and Panteleimon Kulish. Above the portraits, the name of the fraternity is indicated, below - the inscription "I know the truth, I am pleased to see you" and the image of the seal.

The brotherhood was one of the first secret political organizations established in Kiev in 1845. It has become a symbol of the rise of the national spirit on the territory of modern Ukraine. The two main activities of the brotherhood were the establishment of equal cooperation between the Slavic peoples and the revival of Ukraine.
